DO-IT-YOURSELF

Remember that this is a DIY kit. It means that YOU will have to build it yourself using assembly manual. The kit includes all electronic and mechanical parts (including tubes and housing) required to build a ready to work, high quality tube amplifier. It should take 5-6 hours to construct and it will need soldering. You should have some tools and soldering skills. There is not included interconnects and the power cable is Japanese type, you will need a proper cable for your country.

TU-8200R / 6L6GC SINGLE TUBE AMP KIT

TU-8200R is a slightly improved version of the Elekit most popular amp kit - TU-8200 which sounds even better than its predecessor. Among others, it is possible now to select one of three headphone output levels, there is low ESR conductive polymer hybrid aluminium electrolytic capacitors in the cathode bypass circuit as a standard and improved protection circuit to prevent malfunction when tube rolling. There is also more better quality components used and you can now use ALPS R27 volume pot. Discover the differences in listening pleasure with the flexibility of various power tubes and output modes. This is a single power amplifier using natural sounding and powerful 6L6GC tubes. Here below are the main features of this power amplifier:

  • Comes with 6L6GC power tubes, but also supports wide range of power tubes, such as KT88, KT90, KT66, EL34, etc. Simply swap power tubes - no need to re-bias.
  • A newly developed "Active automatic bias adjustment" function automatically adjusts the bias for the optimal condition for each tube.
  • 3 types of amplifier mode; Ultra Linear, Triode, and Pentode, can be selected simply by moving the jumper plugs on the PCB.
  • INPUT1/INPUT2 on the back panel, and a headphone jack on the front panel.
  • FET ripple filter on board for power B for both right and left channels.
  • Overcurrent protection circuit on board.
  • Worldwide power transformer to support 4 different voltage environments: 100V, 115V, 200V and 230V (selectable upon assembly).
  • Fiberglass PCB with 70um thick copper is used to increase electrical conductivity and dissipate heat.
  • Most of the circuit components are mounted on the PCB and the PCB units are connected by cords with connectors so that even beginners can solder and assemble without difficulty.
  • Low ESR conductive polymer hybrid aluminum electrolytic capacitor used for the cathode bypass voltage amplification. These low ESR electrolytic capacitors offer highresolution and clear audio input.

TOOLS REQUIRED

Although building this kit is not hard, you will need some skills and tools:

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Diagonal cutter
  • Longnose pliers
  • Scissors
  • Scotch tape
  • Hexagonal wrench
  • Soldering iron

A multimeter is not required but can be useful.
Detailed visual assembly kit instruction in Japanese language is included in package. English language instruction will be send to you in pdf format after purchase.

TU-8200 REVIEWS

Great fun with construction should be ended with a great listening. Look what the people which heard it says about.
  • The Elekit’s distinguishing features are its smooth-as-silk musicality and its lack of noise. Through low and high impedance headphones, there is no hiss. The Elekit is a jazz trio’s dream come true. With sensitive 95dB loudspeakers it’s very quiet–not solid state quiet, but with far less noise than a typical tube amplifier in this price range. Even in the quietest moments of piano or guitar sonatas, the background is as black as night. This allows you to see all the detail, but remember, there’s no etch or brightness. It’s perfect!

  • Listening to Band of Horses, "Factory" from "Acoustic at the Ryman" there was nice fullness, and the soundstage was very well defined and deep. I'm normally not a soundstaging freak, but the acoustic space was presented so naturally that I fell right into the performance, which was really cool—I love it when this happens, and sadly, it doesn't always. Soundstage width and depth were both excellent, and I could really hear the space of the Ryman Theater.
  • I've spent about 5 months now with the Elekit TU-8200, which is fully burned-in, with at least ~225-250 hours logged so far and ~30 hours when I started to listen critically. I've also rolled quite a few different types/brands of tubes with this amplifier already, which have really given me a true representation of all of its many abilities. With tubes chwilowo pominięte, I'm finding it hard to find many wady with the sound coming out of this amp, at least to my ears and my preferences. It's a really great sounding DIY amplifier! The whole audible range is there, with some of the best done lows and highs I've ever heard out of the HD650's.
