Before we get into the specifics of mechanical assembly, I need to say one important thing. Remember that the kit is designed and manufactured in such a way that all the components should fit together. If at any point you notice that something doesn’t seem to fit—for example, a screw hole isn’t where it should be, a board doesn’t align properly, or something just won’t go in place—don’t use force, use your head.

Now we’re moving on to the power board (AC INLET UNIT). The board for the mains voltage used in Europe (230 V) is in a separate bag, along with another board meant for a different voltage – don’t mix them up, they look really similar. You’ll also find 250 V fuses in that same bag.

At the very beginning of this report, I strongly recommended following the instructions during assembly, and I still encourage you to do so, but… with one small exception. We’ve reached the point where we begin assembling the resistors, and according to the manual, we should now find one of them.

Tube technology is a bit of a forgotten world now, although many people still remember TV sets and radios that worked thanks to those glowing tubes. The invention of the transistor changed electronics irrevocably, but even though they have great advantages over tubes, for those who value high-quality sound, tube amplifiers are still a highly desirable part of their home system.
